If your favorite part of your salon visit is your time in the shampoo bowl then you are in luck. Aveda just introduced their new scalp care collection Pramasana. This is a treatment line specifically for your scalp. You can consider it a pre-cleanse or a detox for your scalp. Because shampoo is specifically designed for your hair and the results you want Aveda identified the need to have a specific cleanser for your scalp. Pramasana is a 4 part in salon treatment or a 3 part take home treatment.
First is the exfoliating brush: Massage the entire scalp using gentle, rolling and brushing motions.
Next is the Pramasana scalp cleanser: This can be applied to either wet or dry scalp, then massaged into a foam.
Lastly apply the Pramasana scalp concentrate: Apply a dropper full to the top, back and sides directly onto the scalp, gently massage to distribute.
In salon we also offer a professional scalp masque as a part of the treatment. The masque feels very cool and calming directly on the scalp.
The entire Pramasana system is designed to help balance any perceived or neglected problem that you may have whether the problem is product build up, dandruff, oily scalp, sweaty gym scalp, or I just want extra time massaging my head scalp.
I have been using the line for a couple of weeks now, three times per week and it really has been an enjoyable ritual. Along with a lovely massage I really enjoy the foaming scalp cleanser on dry scalp, it's so enjoyably odd. The smell and texture of the entire line are not overwhelming. The smell is slightly cucumber/lemon/delicate mint. My hair is curly and when my hair is overly cleansed it can really disturb the curl pattern. The Pramasana collection does not over cleanse my hair. My scalp feels delightfully clean, neither dry nor oily. My hair feels fantastic, as usual, and my curls still look incredible.
